Faith
We start with hope, you may hear, "well I hope so."
Hope is future tense word, "I'm hope it will happen."
The Bible is very clear as to we should have hope "the blessed hope of Christ's return", "our hope in seeing loved ones in heaven."
This is good but what about our needs right now. I like to ask the question, how does this help right now in boot leather in Weatherford, Tx.?
The answer is Faith. The book of Hebrews gives us a great definition for Faith in chapter 11: 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Please note: Hope is a future tense word here, so what do we have for right now. The first part of the Scripture tells us and most read right past it and never grab a hold of the key that unlocks so many of lifes mystries.
The key words are "Now Faith". What kind of Faith is the writer talking about? The answer is the Now kind. You see when is it that you need something from the Lord? In the future or do you need it now?
When you read Hebrews 11:1 with the mindset that your problems are now in front of you and it us now that you are in need. This will change your thinking.
Let's read it again "Now Faith" is the substance (this is something that is tangable or something you can hold on to.) The evidence (the proof) The dictionary says, "evidence sufficient to establish a truth."
The last part of the verse says, "Of those things hoped for." If you are beliving for something in the future your faith is that evidence that you already have it.
Is this Scriptural?
I believe so there is a Scripture I like to keep in my pocket that confirms this very statment.
Mark 11:24
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you recieve them, and you will have them.
The Apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit gives a key to how the Kingdom works. Whatever things you ask. Your prayers are heard, do we understand how we are to act after we pray? Can God fix my problems? Or do we void our own prayers by disbelief? Well I hope it will work. Hope in that since is doubt and doubt is unbelief. Unbelief will kill any prayer because you are saing, I don't think God will do it for me. The Scripture goes on to say, "believe that you have them." What the things you pray for. If the promise is that if you recieve and believe then you have what you ask for in Jesus Name.
Amen
Blessings Bud
