The Helmet of Salvation

The Helmet is our hope, the knowledge that our Lord gives us in His Word of what we have in Salvation.
What is Salvation? In Biblical terms we would use the word soteria, wholeness, wellness, to be saved.
Most of Christianity deliverance by redemption from the power of sin and from the penalties ensuing from it. Oh so much more than saved from sin. We are saved from sickness, we are saved from poverty. Yes we are saved from the consequences of sin which is the seperation from the Father. We have healing paid for by the stripes of Jesus. Sickness and disease those paid for by His blood.
The helmet also protects our eyes, enabling us to maintain physical vision. Spiritual vision allows the Christian to fix his or her eyes on the goal, pressing forward without distraction or detours.
The helmet of salvation protects us and keeps our focus where it needs to be. When we’re wearing that helmet, it doesn’t matter what Satan throws at us, we know what we’re fighting for. We know that our salvation, our deliverance, is a gift from Someone far greater than our enemy.
